Ecotopia Earth Festival, Celebrating Cultural Diversity

A Massive thankyou to our sponsors Yarra Ranges Council, Upper Yarra Community Enterprise, Multi Cultural Victoria and Cire Services.  They have enabled us to start planning another amazing and free event : Ecotopia themed Celebrating Cultural Diversity.

This year we are inviting as many new migrant groups to a Multicultural Morning Tea, we aim to break down barriers and open up doors for new partnerships with LGBTQI+ and other diverse groups within our YRC area.

With Opening Ceremony and Welcome to Country by Aunty Kim Wandin- Wurundjeri Elder. 

We will entertain you in a fun and healthy earth friendly and quality style from 10am -4pm, with live multicultural performances on stage including: Djirri Djirri Dance Group, Chin Community Dancers, Tuvalu Dancers, and master Ghanian Drummer Kofi Kunkpe with Afro Diaspora, Zaar Belly Dance, and Traditional Aztec dance.

It’s time to dream big, dream Trash Fash, Boutique and Kids spectacular junk to funk!  Entry forms available soon.

We may be lucky enough to entice Hans to come from Belgium again in his private jet!    Great prizes to be won, but more importantly lets spread the message about ethical clothes wearing.  Recycling, Redress and Reclaim.

There will be 3 categories again: Trash Fash, Boutique and kids, accompanied by fashion guru judges to assist in fairness and equality of prize distribution. Contact Melanie Allen for queries: mellie.allen@hotmail.com
